Calling all String Quartets and Piano Trios! Musica Viva Australia is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 9th Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition.
Founded in 1991, MICMC has become known as one of the most influential and prestigious classical music competitions for young talent worldwide. If you are a chamber music ensemble, under the age of 35 years, and looking for an opportunity to raise your profile on the international stage then MICMC is for you!
With a fantastic range of prizes, 16 groups will have the privilege to compete live in front of an influential judging panel. There is a prize pool of over $150,000, including a Grand Prize worth $30,000, plus the opportunity to premier newly commissioned works. The competition supports travel and accommodation for ensembles to Australia allowing groups from across the globe to compete amongst the best chamber music ensembles of your generation.
