Musica Vitae Chamber Orchestra is looking for a co-principal cello starting in August 2022, or according to agreement. The position is full-time.
Musica Vitae Chamber Orchestra is a string ensemble based in Växjö in the south part of Sweden. Originally founded more than 40 years ago, we continue to invite our concert-goers to a repertoire consisting of baroque and romantic as well as modernist and contemporary music from a wide variety of genres. As of 2020 Benjamin Schmid is Artistic Leader to the orchestra.
On a yearly basis we give about 80 concerts, both in our chamber music hall in Växjö, but mainly on tour in the south of Sweden or at concert halls and festivals on the Continent. We have also toured the US and Japan among other countries, and are planning to renew our visit to the latter.
Apart from chamber music projects we also engage in concerts for children, and we regularly collaborate with other art forms.
