The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra are accepting applications from outstanding musicians for the following full-time permanent position:
Section Cello
Audition dates: Thursday 9 and Friday 10 February 2023
Candidates must be available for both whole days
Requirements: Two contrasting movements from the Haydn cello concerto in C OR the Haydn cello concerto in D, with piano accompaniment,
PLUS First movement from a standard Romantic/20th Century cello concerto, with piano accompaniment
PLUS orchestral excerpts (available Thursday 12 January 2023)
Closing date: Wednesday 11 January 2023
The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra offers an attractive salary package for the successful candidate. This audition is only open to candidates who currently have the permanent legal right to work in Australia.
