The Grant Park Music Festival’s String and Vocal Fellowships aim to increase diversity among orchestral and choral ensembles and guide young musicians from diverse backgrounds toward successful professional careers in music. Come be a part of the nation’s longest running free outdoor summer classical music series!

We have so many great things in store for this summer’s string and vocal fellows including master classes with world renowned artists , a high-profile recital series featuring solo opera arias and chamber works, an opportunity to work with today’s best composers in world premiere performances, and performing for 10,000+ people in downtown Chicago with the Grant Park Orchestra and Chorus!

STRING FELLOWSHIP DETAILS
June 11 – August 4, 2023

ELIGIBLE MUSICIANS: String players from a diverse background historically and currently underrepresented in the orchestral field (Black, Latinx, Native American, Pacific Islander, West Asian for example)
AVAILABLE: Violin (2), Viola (1), Cello (1)
FELLOWSHIP STIPEND: $8,500.00 (approximation based on rehearsal/performance schedule)
String Video Application Deadline: Friday, February 17, 2023
Live Audition for Finalists: March 2023 *applicants traveling over 50 miles are eligible for travel support
