The online competition for soloists and ensembles in honor of Astor Piazzolla’s music and 100th birthday, presented in collaboration with Fundación Astor Piazzolla.
The Competition’s Honorary President is GRAMMY-winning musician Gary Burton, and the Jury is headed by Pablo Ziegler, the GRAMMY-winning former member of Piazzolla’s quintet, and includes GRAMMY-winning bandoneonists Héctor del Curto and Daniel Binelli, among others.
Open to contestants of any nationality, state, or country of residence.
All instruments types and voices are allowed to enter.
Contestants must be at least 13 years of age at the time they appear in their video submission.
Prizes include a recording contract with PARMA Recordings (www.parmarecordings.com), a tour in China, performances with world-renowned orchestras, and masterclasses.
Application proceeds go to musical education charities.
Finalists will be announced on May 18, 2021, and winners revealed on June 15, 2021.
