Big Noise Torry (Aberdeen) have a vacancy for a Temporary Senior Musician (Upper or Lower Strings, or General Musicianship) for a period of approximately one year to cover maternity leave. At Big Noise Torry, you will be part of a team who work with children from pre-school, primary school, secondary school and adults. The team are creative in designing and introducing new ways of learning as we use the orchestra to grow children’s confidence, respect, aspiration, drive and understanding. As part of the team, you will develop innovative ways to engage children and families, including home visits and community performances.

As a Senior Musician you would support the Head of Centre by contributing to the shaping of our work in the Torry community, by leading on trips and events, encouraging and supporting staff members, building new areas of work in portfolio areas such as youth voice, curriculum and delivery, external partners and community representation. You will also provide leadership and support for Big Noise Musicians, enabling them to deliver the best outcomes for the children, young people and community members in the programme. You will have experience of working with children in a music education and/or community music context, along with experience and success in taking on leadership roles and responsibilities. You will also have experience of working with large and varied groups of children along with a track record of success in giving music instruction to children on your specialist instrument.

This is a temporary post which is expected to last for one year. Working hours will be between 28 and 31.5 hours per week between Monday and Friday, all year round.
