The Resident Music Assistant (RMA) is a new role which has been created to bridge the pastoral and musical needs of the pupils of the Yehudi Menuhin School. It presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the creative life of one of the world’s flagship music schools.

As a resident of Music House (the girls’ boarding house), the RMA will assist the Houseparent in the provision of pastoral care and support for boarders, ensuring that their health and safety, physical, social, emotional, medical and mental wellbeing is properly cared for. The successful candidate will be required to apply their knowledge in a fair and practical way, always ensuring that the pupils’ best interests and safeguarding needs are of paramount importance, and will serve to apply school policies consistently and fairly for all residential students

The RMA will assist with the musical development of the pupils through the active supervision and mentoring of their daily practice, and via close collaboration with instrumental teachers in the implementation of appropriate student support. Additional musical responsibilities can be tailored to the individual skillsets and interests of the successful candidate, and there will also be opportunities to contribute towards the successful delivery of several exciting new educational initiatives which are
currently in development. This role would ideally suit a recent graduate from music college who seeks experience in a world-class musical establishment.
