The Director of the National Theatre Brno, a contributory organisation, announces

audition for the opera orchestra for the position of concertmaster of the cello group

1.0 hour – expected to start on 1 September 2023 to be held on 14 June 2023 at 10.00 a.m at Janáček Theatre, 7 Roosveltova St., 657 00 Brno

compulsory compositions for audition:

Round I:
S. Bach: prelude from any suite for solo cello, 1st and 2nd movements from a concerto from the Classical period with cadenza,

orchestral parts and solos:

A. Mozart: solos from the opera Don Giovanni, P. I. Čajkovskij: solos from ballet Swan lake, B. Smetana: Prodaná nevěsta – předehra
Round II:

concert composition of your choice from the Romantic or 20th century.,

or P. I. Tchaikovsky: Rococo Variations (selection)

orchestral parts and solos:

A. Mozart: The Marriage of Figaro, S. S. Prokofjev: Romeo a Juliet, Puccini: Tosca, G. Bizet: Carmen, P. I. Tchaikovsky: Eugene Onegin, Sleeping Beauty

Duly registered participants will be invited. The material of the orchestral parts will be sent to the registered participants electronically by e-mail upon request.
Playing by heart is not a requirement. The NdB does not provide a accompanist.
