SUMMARY:Movement Meets Music – Applying Dalcroze to the Cello\, Part 1
DESCRIPTION:CelloKids Double Header!\nMovement Meets Music: Applying Dalcroze to the Cello \nThese pairs of classes will be spread out over 2 Saturdays — participants must attend for both weekends!  \nThe first class\, on November 26\, will be taught by Jeremy Dittus\, who will introduce key Dalcroze concepts away from the instruments. Specific topics will vary by class\, but will include games and activities centered around pulse\, rhythm\, solfège\, and improvisation. \nThe following Saturday\, Andrea Yun and Horacio Contreras will be bringing these Dalcroze concepts to the cello in English and Spanish\, respectively — so bring your instruments and be ready to play on December 3! \nThere will be both beginner (ages 5-8) and intermediate (ages 9-12) levels offered\, as well as English and Spanish equivalents on Dec 3rd. Note that the Spanish and English classes will happen at the same time\, but in separate break out rooms on Zoom. \nAs with all our CelloKids classes\, *participants may enroll for free but enrollment for observers (i.e. curious teachers and parents) is $5. Participants must actively be involved in class and remain on camera. \n
