Movement Meets Music: Applying Dalcroze to the Cello
These pairs of classes will be spread out over 2 Saturdays — participants must attend for both weekends!
Continuing from the first class, on November 26, taught by Jeremy Dittus, in this second part of the session Andrea Yun and Horacio Contreras will be bringing these Dalcroze concepts to the cello in English and Spanish, respectively — so bring your instruments and be ready to play!
Both beginner (ages 5-8) and intermediate (ages 9-12) levels are offered, as well as English and Spanish equivalents. Note that the Spanish and English classes will happen at the same time, but in separate break out rooms on Zoom.
As with all our CelloKids classes, *participants may enroll for free but enrollment for observers (i.e. curious teachers and parents) is $5. Participants must actively be involved in class and remain on camera.
You may notice that CelloBello looks a little different right now, and that new content and updates have temporarily slowed. That’s intentional: behind the scenes, we are carefully preparing for CelloBello’s next chapter as part of Chamber Music America.
Our priority during this transition is to thoughtfully preserve the remarkable resources, knowledge, and community that CelloBello has built over the years while preparing a new home that will extend its reach and connect it to CMA’s national community of musicians, ensembles, educators, presenters, and advocates.
We’re excited about what’s ahead and look forward to sharing much more soon. Thank you for your patience as this work progresses —please continue to enjoy CelloBello and check back for updates!
