The following incident was related to me by Janos Starker:

Standing in an airport with his Japanese pianist Shigeo Neriki, Starker said  “Shigeo, please stay here with my cello while I go to the men’s room.” While waiting for Starker to return, Neriki noticed a man across the way staring at him with obvious excitement. Starker soon returned, and the procedure was reversed – Starker stood alone with the cello while his pianist went to the men’s room. As soon as Shigeo was out of sight,  the excited man ran up and asked Janos Starker, “Tell me, is that Yo-Yo Ma!!?”
