Greenhouse suggests that each note has a specific role within a phrase. He also explains that, for example, both hands should intensify together during a crescendo. As the music becomes louder, the vibrato broadens, while in softer passages one narrows the vibrato but maintains intensity. Creativity and imagination ultimately transcend verbal explanation.
