Julie Sévilla-Fraysse is one of the most valuable cellists in the world and a promising talent into the young generation of classical music artists. Considered a new phenomenon and gathering together a large and new community around her, she represents like none other, the classical excellence as well as the French elegance and modernity. Blend of a genuine, humble and sophisticated musical approach, JSF touches her audience through a unique energy, enhancing the vision and opening minds into the classical music global scope.

She graduated from the prestigious National Superior Conservatoire of Paris and she has also studied at the Julliard School in New-York. Coming back to Europe, she joined the Queen Elisabeth Chapelle in Belgium as an artist in residence. She has been taught by some of the finest cello players in the world such as Roland Pidoux in Paris, Gary Hoffman in Brussels, Natalia Gutman and Natalia Shakhovskaia at the prestigious International Music Academy of Santander in Spain. JSF is a laureate of the Banque Populaire Foundation as well as in the 2010 Brahms competition in Austria.

She is also one of the original founding members of the Werther trio, awarded in 2009 at the Maria Canals competition in Barcelona and also receiving in 2011 the Press Critic award during Lyon’s chamber music competition. She has recently performed as a super soloist with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra at FLAGEY concert hall in Brussels, with the UAEH Orchestra in Mexico as well as with the Camerata Venia Orchestra conducted by Gleb Skvortsov.

In 2018 she performed live in front of 50000 persons at the French Festival “Un Violon sur le Sable” offering a tribute to rockstar legend Johnny Hallyday. Passionated by chamber music, she has played recitals with some of the most prominent classical artists in the world such as pianists Abdel Rahman El Bacha, Nicolas Angelich, violinist Régis Pasquier or cellist Gary Hoffman …. She is part of the National Opera of Paris. She is also a founding member of the Klimt Trio. At the same time she combines her classical career with unexpected and new experiences like her duo with Hip-Hop dancer Yann Antonio.

JSF is also an artist extremely involved into transmission and she likes to give masterclass as well as caring about the others through the music and emotions. She often participates to charity initiatives like CoCreate Humanity in Switzerland or Cékedubonheur in France, both organizations with which she is particularly involved. Her first disc released in 2016 was devoted to Kodaly, Janacek and Dvorak sonatas and her next release in 2021 will be devoted to the Haydn concertos for cello.
