Busan Maru International Music Festival encourages inter-community participation and harmony by balancing various cultural events in Korea. In addition to being a well rounded cultural city, we strive to host an international music festival that reflects the wholehearted identity of Busan.
Foreigners residing abroad will proceed with the preliminary round through video. (Videos must be submitted for review.)
The preliminary judges are composed of famous Korean artists and university professors for each part (the list will be published in the main book of the 2022 Busan Maru International Music Festival), and feedback is not provided.
Partial airfare is subsidized only for finalists, and Koreans and foreigners perform with an orchestra with a concerto or a piece composed in 10 minutes or less. (If entry for foreigners is restricted due to COVID-19, the video submitted during the preliminary round will be used to form a contest composed of only foreigners.)
