The Walter W. Naumburg International Cello Competition

The competition is open to cellists of every nationality.
The competitors may not be under the age of 18 or more than 32 years of age.
(You cannot have celebrated your 33rd birthday on or before October 20, 2024.)

FIRST PRIZE: Cash Award of $25,000
Two fully subsidized New York Recitals
A Commissioned Work

SECOND PRIZE: Cash Award of $15,000

THIRD PRIZE: Cash Award of $10,000

AUDITIONS
Preliminary auditions, semi-finals, and finals will be held from October 15 – October 20, 2024 in New York City.

APPLICATIONS
Prescreening deadline is August 18th, 2024
There is a $150 application fee.

TRAVEL
Naumburg is not responsible for expenses related to the competition, including travel, housing, pianist fees, VISAs, or incidental costs.
