Janos Starker discusses his lifelong journey as a musician, emphasizing his life-long process of discovering and releasing smaller and smaller points of tension. Since stoppong to perform publicly, he still dedicates 20 to 25 minutes of dailypractice, primarily to maintain his physical connection to the instrument. Starker describes the journey of uncovering these tensions as both endless and sometimes humorous, often revealing insights he overlooked in the past. He believes that mastering the physical aspects of playing—such as posture and body mechanics—is a key to progress.
