composerbiography: CyrillSchürch

Cyrill Schürch is an award-winning composer for chorus, orchestra, chamber and educational music as well as an active pianist. His music is performed widely in Switzerland and abroad, most recently by the Camerata Bern on tour in Germany and the Netherlands, in St. Petersburg by the Hermitage State Orchestra, in London by Ayre Flutes and in Houston by the Moores Concert Chorale. His music is published by EMR Switzerland, Carus-Verlag Germany, Helbling-Verlag and AVA-Editions. He received his PhD in composition from King’s College London, and a BM and MM in both composition and piano from the UH Moores School of Music. Currently, he is composing a piece as the winner of the Mario Merz Prize and is working on various commissions for choral pieces.
